IvoryCloud Awarded USDA Database Development BPA Contract

IvoryCloud is pleased to announce that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has awarded IvoryCloud a contract to support the National Organic Program (NOP) Organic Integrity Database (OID). The OID system is an essential asset in USDA’s portfolio in its oversight of the national organic program and issuance and management of the national organic certification. IvoryCloud’s OID Systems Development and Enhancements, Application Integration, Maintenance and System Implementation, and End User Support Services ensures system operability, accuracy, and security. IvoryCloud CEO, Mr. Saunak Desai, captured IvoryCloud’s commitment to ensuring the efficacy of this system, stating that, “we are excited to partner with AMS in support of the modernization and improvement of OID to meet critical USDA AMS mission needs. This mission continues to be of high importance as the organic community is a fast-growing and thriving sector in the U.S. agricultural market with rising consumer demand and economic value.”  IvoryCloud’s Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) contract has a potential $4.5 million value over 5 years.

NOP is charged with protecting the integrity of the USDA organic seal and is the leading authority on accreditation for certified-organic production and consumption in the United States and abroad. NOP administers USDA organic regulations and an organic compliance and enforcement program with the mission of ensuring that both producers and consumers of organic agriculture trust the validity of the organic label. IvoryCloud Partner and Chief of Strategy, Nick Hopchak, captures the importance of this mission, stating that, “we as individuals all go to the grocery store and wonder what the difference is between products labelled as ‘organic’ and how trustworthy the organic seal is. In a world of decentralized food systems and increasing public awareness of the health and environmental impact of organic farming practices, public trust in the integrity of the organic seal is of unprecedented importance.” Learn more about NOP’s mission here: USDA NOP
